January 2006 security update for WMF vulnerability
Update: Microsoft has released a patch for the WMF vulnerability! It looks like they set a time record in releasing this patch! Fear is a great motivator!

Hamachi is a small free program that lets you create your own VPN network. For example it can create a secure tunnel from your laptop in an open wireless hotspot so that you can connect to your home machine using say VNC or Windows Remote Desktop.
Alternatively Hamachi can make non-routable protocols (such as Windows print and file sharing) routable! that means for example that you can turn a LAN game into a WAN!
Its free and it is terific!

There is a serious flaw in the way Microsoft handles [tag]WMF[/tag] files. This means that visiting a website or viewing an e-mail with thumbnails or graphics CAN INFECT your machine with no other action required!
This patch protects Windows machines untill MS comes out with a patch. This patch may be uninstalled from your control panel if and when MS releases an “official” fix.
